What does Simon think of the Nike Vapor Jet 2.0?

Simon Charbonneau Campeau talks to us about the Nike Vapor Jet 2.0; his experiences, pros and cons and finally he gives us his overall ranking for design, performance and durability on a scale of 1 to 5. What’s your score?

Hello, This is Simon Charbonneau Campeau. I’m currently at the Versus Football Shop, and today I’m going to talk to you about the football glove Nike Vapor Jet 2.0.

Design

When it comes to design obviously Nike is always very good, the design is always really nice. Right here I have three different colors, the navy, red and white. Also when looking on the palm of the glove you can see the strength of Nike’s design to always make glove look fun! Same for for the design on the back of the hand, it’s really nice.

Peformance

Regarding performance, what’s really good with the Nike gloves is the thin material and the light weight of the glove. When you’re wearing the Vapor Jet 2.0, it almost feels like not wearing a glove at all. The wrist band of the Vapor Jet is also very thin so you don’t get the impression that the glove goes up to far on your arm.

Durability

On the other hand, the durability is a one of the flaws of the Nike gloves in general. They don’t necessarily last as long as some of their competitors’ gloves. Sometimes the seams at the fingers wear out and break open. At least according to my experience, I train every day and play 18 games per year, which wears a lot on the gloves. So that might not suit everybody.

Simon’s final ranking

So, finally my grades for the Nike Vapor Jet 2.0 is:

  • Design : 5/5

  • Performance : 4,5/5

  • Durability : 4/5

Football Gear - How to choose your Mouthguard

There are several types of mouthguards but the objective is the same for all; to protect you from teeth injuries and concussions.

The first type is the traditional mouthguard. Normally this type of mouthguard has an outer wall that goes all the way up to your gums but there are also models that are lower and less bulky. Depending on your mouth and your personal preference you should get the one that feels best.

Obviously the low mouthguards could possibly fall out more easily than the high ones but they are usually more comfortable, allow for easier speaking and provide at least as good protection. They are usually slightly more expensive though, because of a more advanced construction.

Another feature that varies for the traditional mouthguards is the hardness of the material. Usually a softer mouthguard is more comfortable but may not provide as good protection as a harder one. However, there are multi-layered mouthguards that combine soft and hard materials to try to optimize comfort and protection.

The second type of mouthguard is the one used when wearing braces. Sometimes you may think that wearing braces would prevent you from being able to use mouthguards, but there are actually quite a few options specifically made for people with braces. I used a mouthguard like that myself in the beginning of my career, it was really comfortable. The braces mouthguard is usually softer than the traditional one, which lets it adapt to the braces and teeth.

There are also other types of more specialized mouthguards. One example that is very popular is the lip guard. With the lip guard you can bite down on both sides of the mouthguard and have your mouth closed, while you breathe through built in channels in the front of the piece. This type of mouthguard also has a protection covering you lips, for which you may be thankful when getting a big hit.

There’s also the double type mouthguards, both traditional double and braces double ones. These are like a mix between the lip guard and the regular mouthguards. You bite down on it from both ends, keep your mouth closed and breathe through air channels in the front. However they do not have the lip protection.

The mouthguard is a very important part of your football equipment. It’s for the protection of your teeth and to prevent concussions. By using the right mouthguard you can also prevent spending a lot of money on emergency dental care, which can reach rediculous amounts, in case of an injury. So it’s very important to choose a good mouthguard that feels confortable and lets you breathe easily.

Try them out, and choose the one that suits you best!
